Professional Experience/Role

Makele provides students with education, outreach, and resources on a wide range of health topics including general wellness, alcohol and substance use, mental health, and sexual health. They develop and implement engaging health promotion programs, events, presentations, and websites that promote student well-being. As a co-advisor to Campus Health student groups, including WellCats and CHSS board, Makele collaborates with students to create peer led initiatives that reflect the current health needs of university students. Her background is in sexual health and healthy relationships, and she specializes in working with survivors of relationship violence.
