The Gender Reassignment Benefit at UA:
The Student Health Insurance Plan offers a Gender Reassignment benefit to plan enrollees. This benefit is available at all three State of Arizona universities and was passed due to advocacy efforts originating at the UA.
The Gender Reassignment benefit affords members critical access to medically necessary, gender-confirming health care. This access to care is a crucial element to the health, academic success, and retention of transgender-identified students.
How do I use this benefit?
Schedule an appointment with one of our Clinical Care Coordinators in Counseling and Psych Services (CAPS). Although this is not a counseling appointment, Clinical Care Coordinators will help you figure out next steps and how to move forward.
