Outreach
and Collaboration
The
Oasis Program works hard to collaborate with a wide variety of offices,
departments, and local agencies in promoting sexual assault and
relationship violence prevention. Frequent collaborators include,
but are not limited to: Athletics, Residence Life, Fraternity &
Sorority Programs, UAPD, and the Southern Arizona Center Against
Sexual Assault (SACASA). Below is a list of some established programs
resulting from such collaboration.
Sexual
Assault Response Collaboration Team
Representatives
from community service providers, law enforcement, military agencies,
and legal organizations meet monthly to review the quality of coordinated
responses to incidents of sexual assault in the Tucson Community.
Greek
Life Advocate Program
Representatives
from all recognized fraternities and sororities at UA work directly
with Oasis Program staff to deliver peer support, educational programming,
and prevention information to the overall fraternity and sorority
community.
Rape
Aggression Defense (RAD) Program
In
collaboration with UAPD, the Women's Resource Center, and other local agencies, RAD classes are
offered to UA women as well as women in the Tucson community on
a per-semester basis. The one-time fee for the class allows participants
to come back as often as they would like.
For
more information about RAD, check the national website at www.
rad-systems.com.
