Health
Education Students
Internships for UA students enrolled in the Public Health graduate
program or majoring in Health Education are available through the
Health Promotion and Preventive Services unit of Campus Health.
Depending upon the student's area of interest, internships may focus
on one or more of a variety of areas including: alcohol and drug
prevention, sexual health, nutrition and fitness, and social marketing
of health-related messages. Students interested in obtaining an
internship must visit the Health Promotion and Preventive Services
reception desk (3rd floor of Campus Health) to fill out an Internship

Graduate
Business Students
Campus Health Service employs graduate students to assist with the
Marketing Department throughout the year. Projects that students
may be involved with include advertising, market research, marketing
plan development, orientation planning, and interaction with other
student programs. The student works with the Administration and
all other departments at Campus Health Service to assist in various
other projects.
Clinical
Psychology Externship at CAPS
CAPS offers training for qualified advanced level graduate students
in Clinical Psychology, who are interested in training in a multidisciplinary,
progressive campus- based counseling and consultation service. Externs
work independently, but under the supervision of a licensed clinical
psychologist. Externs gain experience doing initial evaluations,
crisis intervention, brief therapy, and referrals as indicated.
Additionally, they are urged to participate in staff meetings; as
well as in support groups; life skills workshops; consultations
with parents, faculty and other Campus Life Professionals; and in
workshops offered to the campus community. The ideal commitment
is 20 hours per week, but this may be negotiated under certain conditions.
There is currently no monetary stipend available for this position.

Medical
Students
Campus
Health's Medical Resident Training Program
Training for medical residents is available in the Sports Medicine
department and the Gynecology clinic of Campus Health. In the Sports
Medicine department, all first year Pediatric residents come through
as a part of their Adolescent Medicine rotation, and all Family
Medicine residents come through as a part of their Orthopedics rotation.
In addition, both Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents
may rotate through as an elective. In the Gynecology clinic, all
Pediatric residents come through as part of their Adolescent Medicine
rotation. Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents can rotate
through as a part of their Women's Health elective.
Nursing
Students
Campus Health registered nurses precept university student nurses
in our Acute Care Clinic. They help educate them with hands-on clinical
experience with varied procedures such as intravenous management,
rapid strep tests, and assisting with minor procedures.
Pharmacy
Students
Campus Health Service Pharmacy is a rotation site for Pharmacy Practice
803a. Fourth year students from the College of Pharmacy complete
a six-week clinical rotation on site. Historically 6 students a
year complete rotations at CHS Pharmacy.
Psychiatry
Nurse Practitioner Interns
CAPS offers an internship for students completing Psychiatric NP
training. This internship is supervised by our staff psychiatrist.
U of A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner students may apply for this
internship in the last semester of their academic program. Prospective
interns may apply to CAPS directly after they have conferred with
their program coordinator/director.
Psychiatry
Residents
Psychiatry residents from University Medical Center may opt to complete
a rotation at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). The
resident will gain experience in college mental health, under the
supervision of Dr. Hal Crawford, psychiatrist. Interested residents
are encouraged to contact Dr. Crawford, 621-3334.
Sports
Medicine Fellowship
- One-year ACGME-accredited sports medicine fellowship designed
to teach residency-trained primary care physicians the principles
and practice of sports medicine.
- Emphasis is placed on learning the clinical skills necessary
to prevent and treat exercise-related injuries while promoting
a healthy lifestyle and preparing the graduate to be a team physician.
- Clinical experience is gained at the University of Arizona Campus
Health Center (including intercollegiate, club and disabled athletics),
McKale Athletic Center, Family Practice Continuity Clinic, Canyon
Ranch, and various other sporting events.Program Director: Stephen
Paul, M.D., Assistant Professor Department of Family Medicine
and Clinical Coordinator Sports Medicine Campus Health at the
University of Arizona.
- 2 positions are offered each year. Priority will be given to
the fourth-year track of the University of Arizona Family Practice
Residency. We are currently not participating in the match.

Graphic
Design Internship
Internships for UA graphic design students are available through
the Health Promotion and Preventive Services unit of Campus Health.
Interns will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects
and acquire valuable experience and skills. Interested students
